This is the third time I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Shea family. Seems like just yesterday that I shot Katy’s maternity session which was shot in studio at Redondo Beach here’s a link. Then it was Ryan’s sister wedding in Palos Verdes here’s a link. Fast forward to the present day and now I’m photographing their family portrait… how time flies. Ishibashi Family – Santa Monica Family Photographer

I’ll start out by saying that the Ishibashi’s absolutely rocked their photoshoot! From their wardrobe to their fun attitude, they were ready to have a blast during their shoot, and I love that. We started out by shooting at the UCLA Botanical Garden. From there we switched location to their beautiful home in the Santa Monica area, and lastly we simply walked out their front door to a few select spots in their neighborhood and shot away.

Julie’s Maternity Session

So this was my first on location maternity shoot. The first few were all shot in-studio but for Julie’s shoot I though it would be a nice change of pace to have our shoot at one of my favorite parks. Julie and her family looked like they had just stepped out of a magazine… making my job a piece of cake! LOL

The more that I shoot maternity sessions, the more I enjoy them! Much like a wedding there is an anticipation that is palpable, there is something wonderful just around the corner. I photographed Kristen as she was 40 weeks pregnant, she had a beautiful baby girl just a few days after our shoot.
